Plant Growth Stages

This was a poem I wrote inspired by the beauty and creativity I observed in nature while completing field work on endangered plant species while I was working outdoors all day long. I (Rhonda, creator of BioSavants) wrote this poem in the summer after learning of the three main stages a seed goes through as it becomes a plant.

Life Cycles of a Plant

It’s all in the E-c-o-l-o-g-y of things

Its all in the N-a-t-u-r-e of things

Coreopsis

Seed sown

Seed set

Seed grown

Only to be back again another day in another way

Because it’s all in the E-c-o-l-o-g-y of things

I mean the N-a-t-u-r-e of things

For the regeneration of life to occur

From the simple basic elements of

Soil – Light

Earth – Fire

Water

To breathe life into a plant

Representing

A bright chlorophyll green stalk

of flowers yellowish orange

Life

Death

And then Regeneration

A Seed is Sown

Only to repeat the cycle again
